First Aid (Red Cross Recertification)

First Aid

This course includes Standard First Aid, CPR and Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The CPR certification includes one- and two-person rescue for infants, children and adults. This course meets Alberta and Saskatchewan Occupational Health & Safety Requirements and is valid for three years. Other levels of CPR are available upon request (HCP, Level A, etc.)

Recertification:
Recertification for students with a VALID Standard Red Cross Certificate is available. Please ensure that a recertification meets the requirements for your employer or other application, as some students may be required to take a full course every three years. To successfully complete a recertification course, qualified students must already be well-versed and familiar with the information to be prepared to correctly demonstrate the skills and techniques.

H2S Alive!

H2S Alive!

This one-day course is intended for all workers in the petroleum industry who could be exposed to hydrogen sulphide (H2S). This course covers the physical properties and health hazards of H2S, how to protect oneself and basic rescue techniques. Each student is required to operate a self-contained breathing apparatus, a detector tube device and perform rescue breathing as well as rescue lift and drag exercises.

Ground Disturbance

Ground Disturbance

 

This one-day course is the most widely recognised Ground Disturbance course by industry in Saskatchewan and Alberta and is considered the leader in the field of ground disturbance training. The course deals with the primary pitfalls which result in illegal and dangerous strikes.  Students are trained in accordance with regulations of the Pipeline Act and Regulations with cross-reference to other legislation as applicable.  Students receive both Saskatchewan and Alberta regulations. The course meets IRP#17 requirements.

This course is one of the Skills & Safety Training courses offered at Central Energy Services, by the Great Plains College.
